Description
Description
The Flux 2 can do it all!
The Flux 2 is among the quieter turbo trainers in the collection. Ideal if you’re training in a noise-carrying environment. The Flux 2 Smart’s integrated power meter has an accuracy of 2.5 percent, placing it in the upper layer of most accurate turbo trainers available. Ideal when you’re training for watt level. The Flux 2 Smart is also an excellent pick for muscle machines. This turbo trainer has a maximum power of 2000 watt. Apart from that, the gradient can go up to 16 percent. The Flux 2’s electronic brake can be controlled by software. This allows for truly realistically simulated climbs due to automatic gradient adjustments. This makes the Flux 2 an excellent base for a wide variety of cycle training.
Connecting to Software and Devices
With the ANT+- and ANT+ FE-C connections you can easily and quickly connect this smarttrainer to other sensors with ANT+. This allows you to collect even more training data. Are you done with your workout? Then simply exchange your workout data with devices, apps and software via the Bluetooth signal.
Suited for a wide range of bicycles
Are you using a bicycle with disc brakes and a Boost axle? Then the adapter set for this is included. Both your racing bicycle and your mountainbike can be used on the Flux 2. This makes the Tacx Flux 2 Smart T2980 a great choice for cyclists looking for a versatile turbo trainer and are interested in training statistics.
Technology
Connecting to Windows PCs
Do you own a Tacx Flux 2 Smart and do you want to get the most out of your trainings than you would with smartphone or tablet apps? You can connect your trainer to your computer. This way, you can train using the Tacx Desktop App. This way, regulating resistance and performance data read-out uses your computer instead of your tablet or smartphone. For example, you’ll be able to ride using longer videos with HD or Blu-Ray quality and your resistance will change based on the gradient.Tacx Desktop App Premium Account
The Tacx Desktop App Premium allows you to enter the world of virtual cycling environments. This makes indoor training more exciting than ever. Cycle famous, staple trails, climbs and other unique routes from all over the world. Race against your friends or other contestants for a spot on the stage, cycle through the most gorgeous courses and receive live performance data (cadence, speed and power). Training inside is made more realistic than ever before thanks to the Tacx Desktop App Premium.Virtual speed
To allow cyclists with a motor brake and an electro brake to race each other through Multiplayer, Tacx developed virtual speed. This translates energy into speed, which guarantees an honest contest. If this speed deviates from the rear wheel’s speed, the virtual speed will be shown on screen in a red font. Ideal for Zwift contests and training in TrainerRoad or Kinomap.Compatibility
What devices can I connect to?The Tacx Turbo Trainers support Bluetooth Smart and ANT+. Through the Bluetooth option you can connect to all modern Android and iOS smartphones and tablets. You can also connect to laptops that support Bluetooth without any problems. Don't have a Bluetooth device available or do you prefer to connect using ANT+? Then you can choose for Tacx ANT+ dongle. You can connect this to computers and laptops via USB-A.

Frequently asked questions
Will my bike with disc brakes fit this Tacx Turbo Trainer?Yes, disc brakes are no problem. However, it is important that the axle fits correctly. The trainer comes standard with adapters for 142x12mm and 148x12mm thru-axles. These adapters are used in combination with your bike's axle.
What cassette do I need for my trainer?
You will need the same type of cassette as your bike for smooth gear shifting. The only remaining question is whether it will fit your trainer. To determine this, we look at the brand of the cassette and the number of teeth. Does your bike have a Shimano or SRAM cassette? And one with 8 to 11 sprockets? Then your cassette will fit without any additional requirements. Depending on the cassette, you may need to place a number of spacers on the trainer body. Do you have a SRAM 12 speed drivetrain? Then you first need to install this SRAM XD/XD-R body. Do you have a 12 speed Shimano cassette? Then you need to install this Micro-Spline Body first.
Can I use my Campagnolo equipped bike with this trainer?
Yes, you can with 9-12 speed groupsets. However, you will need to replace the default body with this Campagnolo body first.
What tools do I need to install a cassette on my Tacx?
To install your cassette, you will need a chain whip and a cassette remover. These tools can be found here.

Voldoet prima; Blijft stabiel staan.
Gekocht voor de winter, maar ook wanneer het weer goed is gebruik ik de tacx. Ook de stijging percentage werkt perfect.

Good alternative for when the weather outside is rotten
Bought this for the bad weather days, but use it even when the weather is good for a quick hour workout....

This device perfectly meets the normal requirements you may have as an experienced indoor cyclist....
Previous trainer (already) faulty after 4 years. Had paid €1,200 for this so I had no intention of spending that much money on it again. However, as I do Zwift on average 2x a week, it had to be a decent new trainer. The Tacx Flux 2 Smart fully meets this requirement, does not reach the highest incline percentages and max wattages but in real life you will never achieve this either, so don't spend your extra money on this. So this device fulfils normal requirements perfectly. If you have far above average requirements (wattage, etc.) and want to go for innovation, you can of course buy the more expensive version(s).

You need time to get used to it and I hope the creaking stops
After a week of practice, cycled a tour of Rome without any problems, in the first rides quite a problem with the powerful resistance, practice makes perfect. Not easy at 71.
